Nutrition Week celebrated with emphasis on nutritious food for HIV infected people .

Phulbani,7l9(Star news): “Nutrition is very important for humans”. To keep the human body healthy, the need for nutritious food is very high. In this context, while National Nutrition Week is being celebrated all over India from 01st to 07th September, the voluntary organization SWATI has also organized it at various places in Kandhamal district. While the working women of the rural level of Kandhamal district are busy with their work and unknowingly neglect the consumption of nutritious food, awareness meetings have been organized by Maa Griha Katringia, Balandapada and Chhatijhara in Phiringia, Tikabali and Phulbani blocks with the help of National Health Mission Kandhamal to inform the public about the topic “Eat right food for a good life” in the year 2025.

 Local ASHA, Anganwadi workers, pregnant women, and women participated in the program. Panamani Hansda, Integrated Child Development Officer, Tikabali, was present as the guest and spoke about the importance of observing the Nutrition Week, exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months, and complementary foods after 6 months, which develop the child in mental, physical and intellectual fields simultaneously. Senior worker of the organization, Biswaranjan Kar, was present at the programs and made people aware about HIV infection and how an infected person needs nutritious food. He emphasized on eating green vegetables, ripe fruits available in the local area and local food. Hari Shankar Raut, editor of the organization, expressed the opinion that mothers also need to create more awareness in this direction during their stay at home. While Niripama Kahur took charge of the program management, all the ANM coordinators of Maternity Waiting Homae Puspita Sahu, Rameswari Digal, Gitanjali Mikhi and women's health assistants Sunemiya Digal, Snehalata Pradhan, Samanti Digal, Sasmita Behera, Gitanjali Kahur, Manik Behera, Shivani Jani, helped in the program management.
